A Fundraiser for Wallowa county High School Scholarships

July 2nd and 3rd 2021

The Purpose

The CJD Ranch Rodeo, a non-PRCA event*, started back in 2008 when a group of Chief Joseph Days Members got together and came up with a fundraiser idea to boost the funds for scholarships that Chief Joseph Days Rodeo, Inc. awards to three local High school seniors.

*Please note that the CJD Ranch Rodeo is NOT to be confused with the Chief Joseph Days PRCA Rodeo and festivities that take place during the last full week of JULY.

For more than a decade, the event has been an opportunity for local working cowboys and cowgirls to show off their talents in front of spectators who get an up close and personal insight into the life of working cattle ranchers.

Schedule of events

FRIDAY

It all starts on Friday at 2:30 pm with our traditional trail ride to the top of the East Moraine followed with an amazing dinner at the Thunder Room where the scholarship recipients from each of the three local High schools are announced and honored. The dinner is followed with a live and silent auction, raffles, and more fun.

SATURDAY

On Saturday the ranch rodeo starts at 2 pm at the Harley Tucker Memorial Rodeo Arena. Enjoy a laid back environment watching local working cowboys and cowgirls showing off their skills that are essential to cattle ranchers in the field.
