The 2nd Tryouts and Queen Coronation for the 71st Chief Joseph Days Court is coming up on April, 16. Tryouts begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Harley Rucker Rodeo Grounds in Joseph. Coronation Dinner follows at the Joseph Community Center starting with social hour at 5:30 p.m, Tri-Tip Dinner by Apple Flat Catering at 6:30  p.m, followed by the Queen Coronation at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets for the Coronation Dinner are $20 (includes cover charge for dance), $5.00 for dance only (doors open after coronation @ 9p.m.) and are available at the Chief Joseph Days Rodeo Office & the Sports Corral in Joseph, and Community Bank in Joseph, Enterprise, and Wallowa.

The 2nd Tryouts, and the final riding competition, will give CJD’s three royal ladies, Princess Taylor Grote, Princess Lauren Makin and Princess Sarah Aschenbrenner another chance to show off their riding skills at the Harley Tucker Rodeo Grounds, the morning of  coronation, Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m.

The tryouts and coronation event are open to the public. 

The Queen’s coronation is based on three different categories: Riding, speaking, and ticket sales.

The 71st Annual Chief Joseph Days Court will continue to sell tickets to the 2016 Chief Joseph Days Rodeo door to door, phone to phone, and even email to email, until the day of coronation. To support our wonderful young ladies click here for more information.
